Importable watchlists allow users to uniquely define a sample space of assets they are interested in monitoring without the hassle of manually inputting each pair. When dealing with hundreds of trading pairs, manually finding and managing the watchlist becomes increasingly tedious as exchanges often adapt trading states, delist pairs, and your investment interests change.
One way to implement this is to allow imports of appropriately formatted .txt files that exclusively define a user’s trading pairs of interest.
Formatting can follow conventions like:
<TRADING_PAIR>.<INVESTMENT_TYPE>:<EXCHANGE><NEXT_PAIR_DELIMITER>
For example,
BTCUSDT.SPOT:BINANCE, SOLUSDC:BINANCE, ETHUSDT.LINEAR:BYBIT
TradingView similarly supports watchlist imports with slight differences in formatting and header grouping.
